SCI FI Tech-Liquid-crystal eyeglasses make bifocals obsolete
Bifocals aren't really socially acceptable unless you're over the age of 60, and even then that old goat Earl Wheeler down at the shuffleboard court might still make fun of you for wearing them. Luckily, technology has once again come to the rescue. Researchers at the University of Arizona have developed liquid-crystal eyeglass lenses that automatically adjust their focus depending on where the wearer is looking. Bifocals can block your vision and cause headaches due to the fact that they're two lenses in one. The new lenses should make life much easier for those suffering from presbyopia, the inability for your eye to shift focus from distant to near objects. They're not quite cybernetic eyes, but still progress. — Adam Frucci
